10,000 Players, $1,000 Each, 7 Casino Games. Who Survives?
We gave $1,000 to 10,000 virtual players in each of the 7 most popular casino games and tracked every hand. The survival rates are not what you expect.
Most gamblers pick their game based on feeling, atmosphere, or habit. Few realize that the gap between the best and worst popular casino games can mean the difference between playing all night and going broke in an hour. We decided to quantify it.
We built a Monte Carlo simulator that sends 10,000 independent players into each of 7 popular casino games. Every player starts with the same $1,000 bankroll and places the same $10 base bet. Each plays with optimal strategy for their game: basic strategy for blackjack, banker bet for baccarat, pass line for craps, 9/6 full-pay for video poker. The only variable is the game itself.
The results are interactive. Adjust the parameters, pick which games to compare, and run the experiment. Watch the survival curves diverge in real time.

Methodology
Each game uses its mathematically verified house edge and payout structure. Blackjack: 0.50% house edge (6-deck, S17, basic strategy). European Roulette: 2.70% (even-money bets). American Roulette: 5.26%. Baccarat banker: 1.06% (with 5% commission). Craps pass line: 1.41%. Video Poker: 0.46% (9/6 Jacks or Better, optimal strategy). Slots: 4.00% (96% RTP).
A player is considered 'bust' when their balance falls below the base bet. The simulation tracks bust timing, final balance distribution, and key statistics. Each round is independent with mathematically correct probabilities for the respective game.
The Verdict
The difference between games is dramatic. Blackjack and video poker players frequently survive the full session and leave with profit, while American roulette and slot players face steep attrition. A 0.50% house edge versus a 5.26% edge might sound like a small gap, but over 500 bets it compounds into a completely different experience.
If you walk into a casino with $1,000 and plan to make $10 bets, your choice of game is the single biggest decision you will make. It determines whether you are likely to play for hours or go broke in minutes. The math is not a suggestion. It is a prediction.
